Summer camp for 7th-8th & 9th graders 13-14-15 years old near West Windsor
At Oak Crest Day Camp, our Teen Travel Program is designed specifically for rising 7th, 8th, and 9th graders. It gives teens structured independence, consistent supervision, and a schedule that keeps them active and engaged throughout the summer. Participants spend part of each week enjoying on-site activities with their peers and part of the week on carefully planned trips to destinations near West Windsor, NJ, where they can try new experiences, build confidence, and stay socially connected. The Teen Travel schedule at Oak Crest Day Camp is organized by grade so families can easily plan and teens know what to expect each week.
7th graders spend Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays on camp grounds, with day trips scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays.
8th and 9th graders follow the opposite pattern—camp on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and off-site trips on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Optional 2- or 3-day overnight trips are also available for teens who want a longer travel experience.
Camp days follow a structured schedule led by trained, background-checked counselors. Teens take part in two free-swim periods, rotate through activities such as the Climbing Tower and Ropes Courses, play a variety of sports, explore creative options, and choose their preferred electives during two daily Choice periods. This mix of guided programming and personal choice gives teens a balanced day while staying close to home near West Windsor, NJ.
Safety and clear expectations guide every off-site trip in the Teen Travel Program. Oak Crest Day Camp follows established Travel Protocols for all excursions, and both campers and parents review and sign a Teen Travel Behavior Contract before participation. Each age group is managed by an adult Division Head who oversees daily operations, both on camp grounds and during travel.
Teen Staff receive focused training on supervising early teens in public settings, handling group movement, and responding to the specific needs of this age group.
