Explorer Athletics

One of the highlights of the summer is our annual Showcrest performance, where Explorer Girls (ages 6-8) participate in a Dance and Drama production. This event, held at a local venue during the 6th week of camp, features professional sound and lighting, giving children the opportunity to showcase their talents in front of an audience.

Learn to Swim
At Oak Crest Day Camp, our Learn-to-Swim Program is a central part of the experience, especially for children ages 6-8. Our Aquatic Complex, which spans 12,000 square feet, is designed specifically for young swimmers. The pool offers varying depths, starting at just 1 foot and progressing to 6 feet, allowing children to build confidence in the water and gradually work their way to deeper areas as their skills develop.
Each day, campers participate in 40-minute swim lessons led by certified instructors. These lessons are tailored to individual skill levels, ensuring that each child receives the appropriate level of instruction. Our instructors are trained annually according to American Red Cross standards and bring over 25 years of experience in teaching swimming to children.

Learn to Ride a Bicycle
At Oak Crest Day Camp, our new Bicycle Village is a popular spot for 6-8-year-olds to learn and enjoy cycling. The area features a 1/4-mile training course, a pump track, and a trail designed for mountain bike practice. Learning to ride a bike is an exciting milestone that helps children develop balance, coordination, and motor skills.
Our experienced instructors provide personalized guidance to help each child gain confidence as they ride. We offer properly sized bikes and safety helmets to ensure a safe and fun experience for every camper.
