Senior campers ages 10 to 12 take part in structured climbing and ropes activities that focus on building confidence, coordination, and decision-making skills. These activities are designed to challenge campers at their own pace while providing clear guidance and supervision throughout each session.
The Climbing Tower includes multiple elements with different levels of difficulty, allowing campers to progress based on their comfort level. Features include two rock walls, a Giant Swing, a 200-yard Zipline, a Giant Cargo Net, and Jacob’s Ladder. Campers are encouraged to set personal goals and choose which challenges they are ready to attempt, helping them build confidence through achievement.
The High Ropes course adds another level of challenge with elevated obstacles that require balance, focus, and control. Campers navigate these elements while secured in harnesses and supported by trained staff. The High Ropes Confidence Course introduces additional mid-air challenges that focus on trust, problem-solving, and persistence.
All activities are led by certified staff who provide instruction and ensure proper use of equipment. Safety is a priority, with daily equipment checks and annual certification of the courses by their original builders.
Oak Crest Day Camp provides a structured setting where older campers can safely take on physical challenges, build confidence, and develop resilience through guided climbing and ropes experiences.
