Physical challenge activities give senior campers ages 10 to 12 a chance to build confidence, coordination, and focus through supervised climbing and ropes experiences. At Oak Crest Day Camp, these activities are designed for older campers who are ready to test themselves, set personal goals, and work through challenges at their own pace.
The Climbing Tower includes several elements with different levels of difficulty. Campers can try two rock walls, the Giant Swing, a 200-yard Zipline, a Giant Cargo Net, and Jacob’s Ladder. Each activity gives campers a different type of challenge, whether it involves climbing, balance, grip strength, or learning how to stay calm while trying something new.
The High Ropes course gives senior campers additional elevated challenges that require balance, focus, and problem-solving. Campers move through obstacles while secured in harnesses, learning how to trust the equipment, listen to instructions, and keep going even when an activity feels difficult. The High Ropes Confidence Course adds more mid-air elements, giving campers extra opportunities to build resilience and confidence in a controlled setting.
Safety is built into each part of the program. Climbing and ropes activities are led by trained, certified staff. Equipment is checked daily, and both courses are certified each year by their original builders to meet current safety standards. Campers are guided through each activity with clear instruction and supervision.
Oak Crest Day Camp offers senior campers a structured way to take on physical challenges, build confidence, and learn how to work through obstacles in a safe, supervised environment.
