For senior campers ages 10 to 12, the climbing and ropes program at Oak Crest Day Camp gives children a structured way to take on physical challenges, build confidence, and work toward personal goals.
Campers can participate in the Climbing Tower, which includes two rock walls with different levels of difficulty. This allows each camper to begin at a level that feels manageable and work toward more challenging climbs as they gain strength and confidence. The tower also includes the Giant Swing, a 200-yard Zipline, a Giant Cargo Net, and Jacob’s Ladder, giving campers several ways to test balance, coordination, and focus.
The High Ropes course adds another level of challenge for older campers. These elevated elements help campers practice problem-solving, patience, and resilience while staying secured in harnesses. The High Ropes Confidence Course gives campers more mid-air obstacles to work through, helping them build trust in themselves, their equipment, and the staff guiding them.
All climbing and ropes activities are supervised by trained, certified staff. Equipment is inspected daily, and both courses are certified each year by their original builders to meet current safety standards. Campers are encouraged to move at their own pace, so the focus stays on effort, progress, and safe participation.
Oak Crest Day Camp offers a climbing and ropes program where senior campers can challenge themselves, overcome obstacles, and gain confidence in a safe, well-supervised setting.
