Senior campers ages 10 to 12 are encouraged to take on physical challenges through the Climbing Tower and High Ropes courses at Oak Crest Day Camp. These activities are designed to promote confidence, coordination, and personal goal-setting in a supervised environment. The Climbing Tower includes two rock walls with varying levels of difficulty, a Giant Swing, a 200-yard Zipline, a Giant Cargo Net, and Jacob’s Ladder. Campers work through these elements based on their comfort and readiness.
The High Ropes course includes additional rock climbing areas and elevated challenges that test balance, focus, and resilience. A newer feature—the High Ropes Confidence Course—offers expanded mid-air obstacles that give campers even more opportunities to develop trust and problem-solving skills while secured in harnesses.
All climbing and ropes activities are led by trained, certified staff. Equipment is inspected daily, and both courses are certified annually by their original builders to meet current safety standards.
For parents near Somerset, NJ, this program offers a consistent and well-supervised way for older campers to challenge themselves physically while learning how to overcome obstacles in a safe, structured setting.
