Senior campers ages 10 to 12 take part in climbing and ropes activities that are designed to help them build confidence, coordination, and goal-setting skills. The Climbing Tower features two rock walls with different levels of difficulty, a Giant Swing, a 200-yard Zipline, a Giant Cargo Net, and Jacob’s Ladder. Campers progress through these challenges at their own pace, choosing activities that match their comfort level and readiness.
The High Ropes course expands these opportunities with additional climbing areas and elevated elements that test balance, focus, and perseverance. A recent addition, the High Ropes Confidence Course, includes a series of mid-air obstacles where campers practice problem-solving, trust, and resilience while secured in safety harnesses.
All activities are run by trained, certified staff. Equipment is checked daily, and both the Climbing Tower and High Ropes course are certified each year by their original builders to ensure they meet current safety standards.
For parents near South Bound Brook, NJ, Oak Crest Day Camp provides a program where older campers can take on physical challenges in a supervised setting, learning how to overcome obstacles and build skills that extend beyond the climbing walls and ropes courses.
