7th Grade Summer Camp Middlesex

At Oak Crest Day Camp, the Teen Travel schedule is designed to provide structure, variety, and independence for campers in 7th, 8th, and 9th grade.

7th graders attend camp on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with off-site trips on Tuesdays and Thursdays. For 8th and 9th graders, the schedule is reversed—they’re on-site Tuesdays and Thursdays, with off-site travel planned for Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. This rotation ensures each age group experiences both campus-based programming and regular travel days throughout the week.

Optional overnight trips lasting two or three days are also available, giving teens the chance to experience extended travel while developing independence in a supervised setting.

During camp days, teens are grouped by grade and follow a set schedule with their counselors. The day includes two swim periods, access to ropes elements and the climbing tower, structured athletic activities, creative programming, and two Choice periods—where each teen selects the activity they want to participate in.

Oak Crest Day Camp follows strict safety protocols for all off-site trips. Before the summer begins, every camper and parent is required to review and sign the Teen Travel Behavior Contract. This agreement outlines expectations for conduct, helping ensure that every off-site experience is managed with safety and structure.

Each age group in the Teen Travel Program is supervised by a dedicated Division Head. This adult staff member oversees all daily operations for that group—both on camp days and during trips. Our Teen Staff is specifically trained to manage the unique needs of early teens and to provide clear supervision in public settings, including busy venues and group travel environments.
