At Oak Crest Day Camp, the Teen Travel Program follows a schedule that balances time on campgrounds with off-site trips, based on grade level. Teens entering 7th grade spend Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays on site, and go on day trips Tuesdays and Thursdays. For 8th and 9th graders, the schedule is reversed—they travel on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and remain at camp on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
During on-site days, teens follow a group schedule led by trained staff. Each day includes two free swim sessions and structured time at key camp areas like the Climbing Tower, Ropes Courses, and sports fields. Campers also take part in two Choice periods, where they select from a range of available activities based on their interests. In addition to day trips, teens can choose to participate in 2- or 3-day overnight travel options during the summer.
Families near Monmouth Junction, NJ, choose this program to give their teens a consistent, active schedule that combines local travel with time spent building skills and friendships on camp days.
