At Oak Crest Day Camp, the Teen Travel Program is specifically designed for 7th to 9th graders, offering a mix of on-campus activities and exciting off-campus trips. At Oak Crest Day Camp, our programs for 7th graders consist of on-site activities every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, complemented by exciting off-site day trips on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Meanwhile, 8th and 9th graders enjoy camp days on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with their off-site adventures scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. For those seeking an extended experience, there are optional 2- or 3-day overnight trips available.
During their time at camp, teens engage in a structured schedule that includes dual free swim sessions, climbing towers, ropes courses, a variety of sports, and creative activities. Additionally, there are two periods each day dedicated to ‘Choice’ activities, allowing teens to personalize their camp experience by selecting the activities they are most interested in. This well-rounded approach ensures that each camper can explore their interests under the guidance of our carefully selected counselors, all near Somerset County.
At Oak Crest Day Camp, ensuring the safety of our campers during off-site excursions is paramount. To participate in our Teen Travel Program, both campers and their parents are required to sign a Teen Travel Behavior Contract that outlines expectations and safety protocols. This contract is a key part of our comprehensive safety strategy, which is led by experienced adult Division Heads. These Division Heads are tasked with the supervision of both on-site and off-site program activities, ensuring a seamless and secure experience.
Our Teen Staff members receive specialized training to effectively oversee and engage with early teens in various public settings, equipping them to handle the specific challenges associated with this age group.
