The LIT Experience

Oak Crest Day Camp invites your teen to join the LIT (Leadership in Training) Experience, a program designed for 16-17-year-olds who want to develop leadership skills and make a meaningful impact in their communities.

Held near Franklin Park, NJ, this immersive program focuses on hands-on leadership development, community engagement, and personal growth. Participants will work together to tackle real-world challenges, build confidence, and learn practical skills they can use to lead others.

At Oak Crest Day Camp, our focus is on helping teens build the leadership skills that will shape their future. The LIT (Leadership in Training) program, designed for 16-17-year-olds, equips participants with the tools they need to become effective leaders in their communities. 11th Grade Summer Camp Franklin Park

At Oak Crest Day Camp, the LIT (Leadership in Training) program offers teens the opportunity to take on real responsibilities and gain practical skills that will serve them in college and beyond. Located near Franklin Park, NJ, the program is designed to help participants grow as leaders by giving them hands-on experience in managing tasks, supporting others, and working as part of a team.

Through these responsibilities, teens will learn essential skills like time management, communication, and problem-solving—skills that are critical for success in both their academic and professional futures. The program not only prepares them to be strong role models but also equips them with the confidence and ability to navigate the challenges of higher education and their early careers.

16-17 Year Old Summer Camp near Franklin Park

As an LIT (Leadership in Training) at Oak Crest Day Camp, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in a rewarding overnight trip and work closely with different camper groups throughout the summer. This hands-on experience, combined with our in-depth Staff Training, will help you develop key leadership and teamwork skills.

Located near Franklin Park, NJ, the program offers ongoing support from our LIT Director, who provides daily feedback and holds weekly meetings to discuss challenges and explore practical solutions. These interactions will help you grow as a leader, while also giving you the tools to handle real-world situations.

By the end of the summer, you’ll have gained valuable experience, formed new friendships, and built a strong foundation for future leadership roles.

Program Includes

  • Commitment to 6, 7 or 8 weeks employment as LIT
  • Complete LIT training including formal weekly meeting and ongoing job supervision
  • LIT salary and potential for added gratuities from parents
  • Transportation to and from camp
