The LIT Experience
Join Oak Crest Day Camp for the LIT Experience, a hands-on leadership program designed for teens ages 16–17. This program helps young people build real-world skills—communication, teamwork, and responsibility—through guided activities and meaningful projects. Participants learn how to take initiative and make a positive difference in their communities, while gaining confidence in their ability to lead.

At Oak Crest Day Camp, we help teenagers turn their summer into a season of growth and achievement. Our leadership program gives campers the opportunity to take on responsibility, work together toward shared goals, and strengthen the skills that prepare them for future success.

Teens in the Oak Crest Day Camp leadership program take on real responsibilities that help them grow into capable, confident young adults. Participants support younger campers, learn how to communicate clearly, stay organized, and make thoughtful decisions—all while working as part of a team.
The program emphasizes practical life skills that prepare teens for college and their early career paths. Every task is designed to build confidence, leadership, and a sense of accountability through hands-on experience.

As an LIT at Oak Crest, teens take part in a full summer of learning, teamwork, and growth. Participants join camper groups to gain hands-on experience, develop leadership and communication skills, and learn how to support younger campers effectively. A special overnight trip and structured Staff Training sessions give LITs the chance to build independence and confidence while putting their skills into practice.
Throughout the summer, each LIT works closely with the LIT Director, receiving daily feedback and weekly group meetings focused on problem-solving, teamwork, and leadership development. This consistent guidance helps teens learn from real experiences and grow into capable leaders.
Located near Warren, NJ, Oak Crest Day Camp offers a meaningful opportunity for 16–17-year-olds to take on new challenges, form strong connections, and prepare for future leadership roles in a supportive environment.
Program Includes
- Commitment to 6, 7 or 8 weeks employment as LIT
- Complete LIT training including formal weekly meeting and ongoing job supervision
- LIT salary and potential for added gratuities from parents
- Transportation to and from camp
